FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is microblading?

Microblading is semi-permanent makeup application partially fills in an eyebrow that has sparse hair growth, or fully recreates an eyebrow for those who have little to no brow hair. Using natural source tattoo pigments, microblading is the manual process of implanting pigments after the creation of an incision by a blade (composed of fine micro-needles).

How long is the procedure?

Generally the appointment will take approximately 2-3 hours, which includes numbing the area, consultation, analyzing and shaping the brows along with the physical process of implanting the pigments. The microblading portion takes about 20-40 minutes (physically implanting pigments).

Does it hurt?

There is some discomfort associated with the procedure. A topical anesthetic is used to numb the area. After the anesthetic has taken effect discomfort if very mild. A numbing agent may also be used during the process of the procedure, that will further numb the incisions that are made during the process.

Results?

After the initial treatment there will be between 40-50% pigment loss, as two treatments are mandatory to get the desired results. The second appointment should be scheduled within the 4-6 week mark. The final color of the brows should only be considered after the final SECOND treatment, which will also fade to the final color in approximately 6-8 weeks. Touch up treatments to maintain the desired color may be 9-12 months.

Will it damage my natural brows?

Existing natural hairs will not be removed; they are even desirable to merge with the stroked hairs providing a natural look. Only the hairs that are not into the desired shape are to be removed.
